Long distance relationship is not for everyone

Distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It’s for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It’s for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don’t see it nearly enough….

  1. I hear you – it’s tough being away from family and friends, geographically. My favourite quote is by Mark twain: “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did… so throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” That’s helpful to put things into some perspective… at times. Of course, nothing can exchange time with family…

Remember, “Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” ~Goethe.

My life is run by quotes 😉

    1. Beautiful and comforting words Marina. Thank you. I guess I’m at a crossroad where I’m feeling a little lost. I feel torn between Malaysia and Melbourne. Having spent equal time in both places, I just don’t know where I’m meant to be. If I were to follow my heart, I’d be leaving my family behind in Australia. LDR is just part of it. Lots of changes need to happen. I just need to trust my instinct, follow my dreams and stop caring what other people think. That’s where your quote from Goethe comes in. It applies in more ways than one. Thanks for sharing. Love it ❤

      1. I know how it feels. Give your dream a shot – so many people will be willing to help you! And the thing is, if the dream hits some tough spots, you always ALWAYS have family to call and visit. They really are irreplaceable and the ones who are so hard to leave behind, but the first to help when you need it. My heart still tugs for Sydney… and LA… and NY… I continually feel at a cross roads 🙂 Let me know if I can help in any way.

        1. Oh you’re too kind. Thank you Marina. Its what I needed to hear most 🙂

          1. I look forward to hearing about your plans 😉

  2. Indeed. Not for the fainthearted.

    1. I take it you’ve been on the other end of skype before? Total respect for couples who managed to pull it off!
